DESCRIPTION:Join us to celebrate the NEW Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge!\n\n\nMayor Muriel Bowser invites residents from across all eight wards to celebrate the bridge opening with a day of family-friendly fun\, food\, and live music. \nResidents of all ages and abilities are invited to join The Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge 5K fun run/walk!   \nEvent Schedule \n\n7:30am – T-Shirt Pick-up at Audi Field.  All registered 5K participants will receive a commemorative logo t-shirt. \n\n\n9:00am –  The 5K Fun Run/Walk.   The fun run/walk will kick off from the Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge!    \n\n\n10:00am  –  Community Day Celebration.  After the 5K\, Mayor Bowser and the District Department of Transportation will host a community celebration.  \n\n\nGetting there:     \nWe strongly encourage event attendees and race participants to use public transportation (Metro\, DC Circulator\, Capital Bikeshare\, scooters\, etc). Learn about the art\, choreography\, sensuality\, and creativity of Burlesque!\n\n\nWhat a tease!  \nJoin the Rose Burlesque Club for an introduction to burlesque!  All are welcome to learn stage presence\, sensuality\, pastie making\, and all the bread and butter of Burlesque dancers.  Our instructor Maki Hinds is a seasoned burlesque performer and the director of the annual Nerdlesque Festival.  \nHosted by Sassy City Studios in the DC side of Takoma Park \,  this 1.5 hour workshop is open to anyone of any gender identity\, body type\, or skill level.
