Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge 5K & Community Day

Join us to celebrate the NEW Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge!
Mayor Muriel Bowser invites residents from across all eight wards to celebrate the bridge opening with a day of family-friendly fun, food, and live music.
Residents of all ages and abilities are invited to join The Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge 5K fun run/walk!
Event Schedule
- 7:30am – T-Shirt Pick-up at Audi Field. All registered 5K participants will receive a commemorative logo t-shirt.
- 9:00am – The 5K Fun Run/Walk. The fun run/walk will kick off from the Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge!
- 10:00am – Community Day Celebration. After the 5K, Mayor Bowser and the District Department of Transportation will host a community celebration.
Getting there:
We strongly encourage event attendees and race participants to use public transportation (Metro, DC Circulator, Capital Bikeshare, scooters, etc). Please note that September 6th is a game day, and parking availability will be impacted.
