Washington DC’s coed flag football league for adults who want real competition and a crowd worth showing up for. Good people, great runs, more than a game.
7v7 coed, non-contact. Rosters of 10 or more, seven on the field, five minimum to start — 1 woman and 4 men at the very least.
Field
60 yards long, 30 yards wide, two 8-yard end zones and three line-to-gain markers.
Clock
Two 20-minute halves on a running clock. It stops in the final two minutes of the second half.
Scoring
Touchdowns are 6 points, or 9 when a woman throws or catches it. PATs run from the 5, 10 or 20.
Coed play
No more than 4 men on the field at a time, so every 7-player lineup includes at least 3 women. The offense must use a woman as the operative player at least once every three plays.
Passing
Forward passes start behind the line of scrimmage and must cross it. Without a rush, the quarterback has 5 seconds.
The rush
A blitzer must line up 7 yards off the ball and raise a hand before the snap, then rush straight at the quarterback.
No-run zone
Inside 5 yards of the end zone the offense has to pass. Running it there is a 5-yard penalty.
