The culture is headed to a new screen. The Breakfast Club, the long running radio show and podcast that has shaped hip hop conversations for more than a decade, is officially coming to Netflix as part of a new video podcast partnership between Netflix and iHeartMedia, the Los Angeles Times reports.
The streaming giant announced an exclusive multiyear deal to bring more than 15 original podcasts to the platform starting in early 2026, with The Breakfast Club leading the lineup. The move signals a major moment for the show, which has long been a daily ritual for pop culture consumers who grew up with its candid interviews, viral moments, and community driven conversations.
Under the deal, Netflix subscribers will get access to new episodes along with select library episodes, marking a new chapter for the show as it expands beyond radio, YouTube clips, and audio platforms into full scale streaming distribution. The video podcasts will first launch in the United States before rolling out globally.
“With this partnership we are incredibly excited to offer our members such unmatched variety, and to deliver highly entertaining podcasts featuring some of the world’s most dynamic personalities,” said Lauren Smith, Netflix’s vice president of content licensing and programming strategy.
The Breakfast Club’s arrival on Netflix reflects a broader shift in how audiences consume podcasts. Video has become increasingly essential, with roughly 70% of podcast listeners preferring shows with video, according to a Cumulus Media study. Netflix has been leaning into that demand as it looks to diversify its content offerings and compete more directly with platforms like YouTube.
While the deal brings The Breakfast Club to Netflix visually, iHeartMedia will continue to hold audio only rights, keeping episodes available on iHeartRadio and everywhere podcasts are heard. That dual distribution ensures longtime listeners can still tap in the way they always have, while new viewers discover the show through Netflix’s global reach.
“Netflix has a leading video-first service, and this partnership perfectly complements our strong audio foundation,” said Bob Pittman, iHeartMedia chief executive. “Working with Netflix — an important leader in entertainment — gives fans one more way to connect with the personalities they love and opens the door to new audiences, including viewers discovering these shows for the first time.”
For fans who have watched The Breakfast Club grow from a morning radio staple into a cultural institution, the Netflix deal feels like a full circle moment. The show’s move onto one of the world’s biggest streaming platforms underscores the power of Black led media, the evolution of podcasting, and the growing recognition that culture driving conversations deserves premium placement on the biggest stages.
“Starting early 2026, Netflix will be the exclusive home for the video versions of iHeartRadio’s top podcasts – including The Breakfast Club, My Favorite Murder, Joe and Jada, Dear Chelsea, Bobbycast, and This Is Important – alongside a robust slate of additional shows,” Netflix stated in a post to social media.
The Breakfast Club will begin streaming on Netflix this January.
